INTRODUCTION TO TANTRA YOGA
Tantra Yoga is a path of self-discovery through encounter with the other.
It is a gradual process of approaching one another in which we become aware of our personal boundaries, learning both to protect them and to soften them when the moment calls for it.
As we enter this process, many of us discover that the way we relate to others—in everyday life as well as in intimate relationships—is not quite what we imagined. Without meaning to, our behaviour may sometimes come across as abrupt or even aggressive. In other cases, shyness itself can give rise to misunderstanding and conflict. Cultivating a finer sensitivity to both our own experience and that of the person before us as we get closer, is a profound step towards more authentic, fulfilling and harmonious relationships.
As in classical Yoga, the starting point is listening to the body and its processes: from the most tangible, such as breathing and heartbeat, to the more subtle, including emotional dynamics and the circulation of energy. For this reason, part of the practice consists of postural work, conscious breathing, and individual meditation.
To this foundation, however, Tantra Yoga adds a wide range of practices involving interaction with other members of the group, engaging both body and psyche.
TANTRA & SEXUALITY
Tantra is often associated with sexuality. For many people, hearing the word immediately raises the question of how far a particular teacher's approach extends: is it entirely chaste, or does it include forms of physical or emotional intimacy? Historically, attitudes towards sexuality have indeed distinguished different Tantric traditions and schools. It is therefore worth addressing the question openly from the outset.Lubhe's approach begins with a simple premise: sexuality is one of the central dimensions of human life, and it remains a profound mystery. No single answer deserves to be considered universally right or wrong.
Sexuality is a delicate territory, one that calls for both prudence and respect. At the same time, when the ego gradually sheds craving, possessiveness and insecurity, erotic ecstasy can become a gateway to a profound experience of the divine.
Unfortunately, for most people this garden of delights remains beyond reach, hidden beneath layers of acquired conditioning.
Our relationship with sexuality changes across cultures and throughout history. In this constant evolution, desire often becomes a battlefield of unfounded fears and exaggerated fantasies. Many of the conflicts that trouble both individuals and societies find nourishment in these unresolved tensions.
Rather than attempting to draw a rigid line between what is permissible and what is not, we believe it is more meaningful to state the ultimate aim of our work: to free the psyche from every form of negative association with sexuality.
This gradual liberation from shame, prejudice and guilt is, in our view, the true key to unlocking the transformative energy of Tantra.
Our promise to everyone who joins a Lubhe experiential retreat is simple: we will always act with profound respect for the integrity of each individual, guided by the sincere intention of supporting their highest good.
Growth asks for determination, openness, and the courage to step beyond the familiar. Lubhe's mission is to create a welcoming environment in which every participant feels free to explore their own boundaries and possibilities—never under the pressure of obligation, and never under the weight of judgement.
